To improve the process of the delivery of services, start with a Strategy and Design point of view. If this would not be the case the resulting IT services will very likely be broken. The 5 ITIL process domain – Operations, Transition, Design Strategy must be considered on an end-to-end approach / basis. This is a must if one wants to apply also to the Service Delivery processes the Lean Six Sigma approach.The reason why this approach has been and it is successful in an increasing number of organizations is exactly this: Use the Six Sigma tools in the five principles of Lean Thinking: Value, Value Stream, Flow, Pull, Perfection, end-to-end.
